Streat Helsinki EATS takes place in the Tori Quarters on Saturday 19 March, 11am-7pm. The participating over 30 vendors are carefully curated, and set to offer the crowds a taste of something new.
How are harvest periods visible in street food? What kinds of new vegetarian and vegan options are out there? What types of preparation methods are big around the world? How are ecology and sustainability addressed? Is there a new Nordic hit worth knowing about?

Jeffrey’s (Stockholm)

Jeffrey’s cuisine is a mix of New York style and traditional Latin American street food dishes. Spicy and modern. The most popular dish is churrasco, which includes Black Angus beef, bacon, guacamole, tomatoes, lettuce, aioli and homemade bread.

Fabrik (Tallinn)

Restaurant Fabrik opened it’s doors in July 2015 on the up and coming district of Kalamaja. Within months the restaurant has managed to get great reviews and recognition both abroad and locally. With the biggest of them being nominated in the top 25 best restaurants in Estonia and being listed in White Guide Nordic.

The menu is seasonal with international, emotional and location based influences. The restaurant is striving to being a local leader in sustainability. They also pay homage to culture and traditions, bringing back old styles and techniques while maintaining a balance with new and upcoming ones.

Martin Sjöstrand/Hörte Brygga (Stockholm)

Chef Martin Sjöstrand and his wife, Emma, are running the restaurant Hörte Brygge on the south coast of Skåne, near Ystad. Hörte Brygga as a mix between café and restaurant that offers a pick-and-mix concept, without any real set menus. Instead, guests are welcome to order basically whatever they want, prepared from superior seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers, fishers and producers.

The Good Gringo (Stockholm)

Cuban Street Kitchen offers grilled Cuban sandwiches, cubanos. The meat has been smoked for seven days making it perfectly tender. Vegetarian cubanos are filled with pineapple and eggplant.

In this year’s Streat Helsinki EATS Bangkok Street proudly presents dishes, that might be new for some of the Finns. The menu is based on the northeast of Thailand, so call Isan. Dishes are authentic street food, in Thailand you can’t find them from restaurants, only from the street. Bangkok Street co-operates with The Finnish Thai Association to represent Thai cuisine.
